Progress on the 18-month project was documented via a webcam – see a time lapse of the progress.

United Properties recently completed the development of Be the Match’s national headquarters in the North Loop of Minneapolis. With the last of its nearly 1,000 employees moved in by early December, the seven-story, 240,000 sq. ft. building is now home to the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on delivering cures through bone marrow and umbilical cord blood transplantation.

Located at 524 5th St. N., the project is the largest build-to-suit office to date in the North Loop, with Target Field, Target Field Station and Ford Center serving as major catalysts for the expansion of the area. In addition to United Properties, the project team includes general contractor RJM Construction, building architect RSP Architects and interior architect Perkins + Will.

The interior design includes an open-office environment with conference rooms, collaborative break meeting spaces, training rooms and employee break rooms. Overall features include an elevated entry plaza, a coffee bar and café 5th Street Station, reserved underground parking, conference event space on the main floor as well as event space and outdoor terraces on additional floors.  The exterior features a 36-string, interactive “Sidewalk Harp” as part of the building’s public art.
