Personal Summary
Raised in Golden Valley, Minnesota, Charlie started working construction for his father when he was 11. In order to make big bucks, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and graduated with a master’s degree in fine arts from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.  Returning to Minnesota in 1994, a series of related jobs led him to commercial real estate development, which he has been active in since 2001. His eclectic background and range of experience works well with the type of properties Hillcrest acquires.

7 to 5 …Nestor
As development and leasing manager at Hillcrest, Charlie coordinates with the internal and external real estate team the various aspects related to redevelopment of the unique properties Hillcrest purchases including acquisition, due diligence, design, construction, stabilization and asset management. In addition, Charlie partners with Joe Klein (Hillcrest leasing manager) on leasing and property disposition.

He is a 2006 Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal 40 under 40 winner and has been a member of Hillcrest Development since 2007. Charlie has been a long-time MNCAR and NAIOP member and has mentored for a number of young brokers and developers over the years. Nestor fishingSince 2008, Hillcrest has acquired more than 25 buildings including the Crown Center Complex, Pentagon Park, with many more to come.

5 to 8 …
With far too many hobbies and obsessions including art, golf, bicycling, and Nordic skiing, Charlie loves to spend time with Rose (his wife of 27 years) and his daughter Lily (13). He knows that he is a lucky man.
