November 28, 2012 at 4:06 pm

Tony CarlsonTony Carlson grew up in Apple Valley and graduated from Eastview High School in 2001.  He then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he graduated with BBA degrees in Real Estate and Risk Management in 2005.  The education and tutelage received at UW-Madison prepared Tony for a career in the commercial real estate field, which he started with Grandbridge Real Estate Capital in 2005.  Tony is now a Vice President at Grandbridge, where he is responsible for the origination of commercial real estate loans.

Being the youngest of three boys has pros and cons.  The pros definitely outweigh the cons, however, and Tony is proud to say that his two older brothers are his two best friends.  Along with his brothers Tony learned how to skate when he was 3 years old on the lake behind their childhood home, and hockey has been ingrained in his lifestyle ever since.  Tony remains active playing men’s league hockey twice a week and splits Wild season tickets with his brothers.

Peles Castle - RomaniaIn addition to hockey Tony enjoys spending time at the family cabin in Wisconsin.  At the cabin Tony can often be found in a fishing boat or dominating his brothers in a friendly game of cornhole (aka bags).   Besides traveling to the family cabin Tony also enjoys traveling overseas.  He has been to Europe twice, visiting France, Italy, Germany, Romania, and Cyprus.  His traveling highlight was in 2006 when he cheered on the USA in Torino, Italy at the Winter Olympics.  Tony missed the 2010 games in Vancouver but is already planning his trip to Sochi, Russia for 2014.  Tony is also an avid reader (thanks Mom!) and especially enjoys political thrillers by Vince Flynn.

Tony has been involved with NAIOP since his introduction to the industry in 2005.  He was one of 10 people honored nationally in 2009 as a recipient of NAIOP’s Developing Leaders Award.  In 2011 he chaired the NAIOP-MN Communications Committee.  Tony also received his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 2012 and in addition to NAIOP is an active member Minnesota-Dakotas chapter of CCIM and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Real Estate Alumni Association (UWREAA). He is also a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of Minnesota.
